Honestly I hate the fact that I had no pick in what high school I wanted to go to. My parents didn't even ask me where I wanted to go to, they just said “congrats! You’re going to Foothill." And now that I'm here, it feels like a tiny jail for smart people.
Coming to Foothill was not my choice. Actually I had no part in choosing the high school I wanted to go to. My parents just told me that I'm going and that they were not going to change their minds. I really didn't want to come here, it was like a life or death situation, if I came, I live, and if I didn't come, then I would die. Before my parents turned in the forms, I begged them to let me go to Ventura high school instead of foothill. But they paid no0 attention to me. They told me the only way I could go to Ventura high school, was that I had to sacrifice something. What I had to sacrifice, was my extremely curly hair. I laughed, and then I said "NO!"
At the beginning of the school year, it was strange. I felt weird in foothill. Besides the fact that people wore fairy wings on orientation day. The first day of school was boring and confusing because I didn't know where my classes were at. I also felt as if the school was going to be boring, but its not that bad. I was lonely the first day of school, because I only knew one person in class. I was really quiet the first day, and I am not that quiet anymore. Everyone at foothill are super awesome and nice, like the fire leaders. The teachers are also nice, and Mr.Geib... well he's Mr.Geib
I think that Foothill high school is better than any other high school in Ventura. So far I met some new people like Fernando, and Wetteran. They both are some pretty awesome people. Foothill high school has gotten better since the beginning but it still feels like prison for some reason. Every teacher here is really awesome, like Mr.Geib, he's always calling me Juan when my actually name is Jose. he also always remembers to involve my hair in the conversations.
